Dear Reader, our website has many resources about the false christ and unbiblical teachings in the Jesus Calling Series. If you are not yet aware, Sarah Young, the author of the Jesus Calling Series, was inspired by a New Age/occult book, before she wrote her so-called Christian devotionals. In the Introduction of the original 2004 Jesus Calling book, Sarah Young wrote:
During that same year, I began reading God Calling, a devotional book written by two anonymous "listeners." These women practiced waiting quietly in God's Presence, pencils and paper in hand, recording the messages they received from Him. The messages are written in first person, with "I" designating God...Six or seven years later, this little paperback became a treasure to me. It dovetailed remarkably well with my longing to live in Jesus' Presence.
The following year I began to wonder if I, too, could receive messages during my times of communing with God. I had been writing in prayer journals for years, but that was one-way communication: I did all the talking. I knew that God communicated with me through the Bible, but I yearned for more...I decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down whatever I believed He was saying. I felt awkward the first time I tried this, but I received a message....
Soon, messages began to flow more freely, and I bought a special notebook to record these words...I have continued to receive personal messages from God as I meditate on Him.

The God Calling "Jesus" is a perversion of the biblical Jesus Christ
The psychically channeled book God Calling served as an inspiration to Sarah Young, yet this book is a dangerous perversion of the biblical Jesus and His gospel message. The two ladies who channeled the God Calling book utilized psychic powers (mediumship/channeling) to get "messages from Jesus" and they referred to themselves as two "Two Listeners."
In other words, these "Two Listeners" channeled a counterfeit Christ (a demonic entity). As well-meaning as they might have been, they unknowingly welcomed spiritual deception and called their spirit guide "Jesus." Instead of testing the spirits to see whether they were from God (1 John 4:1-5) they listened to "another Jesus...another spirit...and another gospel." The Apostle Paul warned the church at Corinth about spiritual counterfeits as they too were apparently being influenced deceitful schemes.
"Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty [cunning], so your minds should be corrupted [and led away] from the simplicity [of your pure devotion] that is in Christ. For [you seem willing to allow it] if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." (2 Corinthians 11:1-4, KJV; emphasis added)

Sarah Young's "messages" from the "Jesus" of the Jesus Calling Series have been thoroughly examined. When compared to the names, titles, and teachings of the Jesus from the Bible, the "messages" of the Jesus Calling "Jesus" are exposed as a counterfeit Jesus, a counterfeit spirit, and a counterfeit gospel.
